Its design is based on the same concepts as all the other apparatus, so the perceived quality is more important than measurement results. Much attention has been given to reproduce the record cutting frequency characteristic as accurate as possible in order to optimise the phase characteristic in the midrange and still minimise the distortions, most irritating to the ear.
